The purpose and mission of the corporation shall be to work hand-in-hand with the Casper Recreation Division to provide funding for free or affordable recreation programs, for people of all ages, to help insure their mental and physical well-being.
Between 1945 and 1982, delivery of recreation services in Casper was administered by a non-profit agency known as the Casper Recreation Association, later as Casper Youth Recreation and from 1949 to 1982 as Community Recreation Inc. In 1982 with the opening of the new Casper Recreation Center it was evident that the City of Casper's investment in the administration of public recreation would increase significantly. It was at this time the City of Casper Parks and Recreation Department was formed and Community Recreation Inc, became the Community Recreation Foundation. The Foundations main goal became facilitating scholarships to youth and seniors as well as continuing to offer free events to the community.
